Bremertunes through the years

BadFish Boom Box Beat

.

This page is a compilation of music selections contributed by USS Bremerton (SSN-698) shipmates who responded to the question:

“Name one song that brings you back to your years on the boat.”

Each entry, currently in order of being submitted, is headed by the shipmate’s name and the years he served on 698. You may click on the songs, they are almost all linked to a YouTube music video for your convenience.

Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution – AC/DC

Wes notes: While I was onboard, I looked up songs released the week of commissioning. The two songs that stuck out to me were Blondie’s Rapture and Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution (AC/DC)…you can imagine which one I picked…we would play this on the boat’s birthday, March 27th, 1981 over the 1MC (the NAV ETs) put a Jack into the XOs stateroom to play songs during field day, battle stations, or when coming out of emcon. Best song played over the 1MC? AC/DC. Worst? I can Bake a Cake by Lil Debbie (not my choice, raffled off). We would pick songs for battle stations, goal was to relieve before the song ended.
